The reason for this is it gives you a real picture of exactly what you eat throughout the day. Many of us sabatage our efforts by having a snack here and there. And those snacks can add up. Often people eat throughout the day and don't even realize it. I know I have caught myself reaching for a snack just because it happened to be there. Not because I was hungry.

When you buy a weight loss journal you will also be able to write out your goals and then track your results as you go. Often you can see positive results, like weight loss on paper before you see it in the mirror. So this can be very motivating.
